Warning! This may be the strangest post I’ve ever written. The Review Crew challenge this week is the color orange. How does one write about the color orange? Even more important, how do you write about the color orange and keep it focused on homeschooling? The answer is, you get really, Really, REALLY creative. I decided to search through some of my favorite homeschool shopping websites and find curriculum choices that are, you guessed it, the color orange. For the record, I don’t recommend shopping for curriculum by color. There are much better ways to choose your homeschool curriculum, and there are definitely better ways to shop for homeschool curriculum than by color. However, click through the resources, maybe you’ll find your dream homeschool curriculum that just happens to be orange. Proceed with a sense of humor!

We’ve actually used this orange school book, and other levels/colors of Math U See. I really like Math U See and we’re using it for our seventh grade curriculum this year (not the orange book). Bonus, Math U See also has blocks that are orange.

Essentials in Writing – Level Five

We have also used this book in our homeschool. My oldest has used EIW levels 4-6, but he’s taking a break from it this year. I’m hanging in there with his Sonlight language arts, but we’ll be running back to Essentials in Writing next year.

Spoiler Alert: This book will probably end up in a favorite things post in November. I really like picture books and this is one of the best I’ve read that tells the story of Squanto and his friendship with the pilgrims, and the miracle that was his life. I love this book! It’s available on Amazon and Beautiful Feet Books.

This book isn’t orange, but the picture on the cover portrays Christopher Columbus examining an orange that he’s holding in his hand. It totally counts with my orange theme. My boys and I loved the D’Aulaire books when we did Early American History Primary from from Beautiful Feet Books.

We used ELTL several years ago. I like it. It’s a mixture of Classical and Charlotte Mason homeschool styles. Lessons are based on classic literature.

The following resources I’ve never used or really researched. I am including these solely based on the color orange. You never know, you may discover something you want to try based on the color orange.
