Since starting My Homeschool with a View, I have had many opportunities to review all sorts of new curriculum options. While there are many great options available, I am not normally swayed or go full-on fan girl over a curriculum. Until I had the opportunity to review Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science Membership.
Normally I wait until the end of a review to summarize my opinion of the resource, but for those of you that don’t want to read all of the details, here you go. I LOVE this science curriculum. Like, where has this been all of my homeschool life? It is one of the most well put together online homeschool resources I’ve reviewed. If you don’t like reading the full post and all the details, then go checkout Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science for yourself. For those of you that like all of the details, read on and find out why I think this is my new favorite homeschool science curriculum.
Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science Membership
Greg Landry’s Canvas based science classes are self-paced and include everything you need to complete the curriculum, including PDF textbooks and optional tests with answer keys. Instruction is video based and assignments are discussed in the videos. Even though this course is online and video based, students and parents have access to the teacher for questions. So parents that may not be very science minded (that’s me) won’t be left to spend hours watching tutorials on YouTube if their kid has a question.
There’s a suggested schedule if you prefer not to plan the self-paced courses yourself. Record keeping tools are also included with the membership. Everything that you need for a science course is taken care of for you.
Homeschool Science Labs
Here is what I think is the best part of Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science Membership. Online labs. That’s right, online labs are included. No need for expensive supply kits that you can’t get rid of without EPA supervision. No need for a chemistry lab in the kitchen. No strange smells from dissection specimens. Labs are fully online and interactive with lab manuals included. I would use the curriculum just for this feature, but there’s even more goodness offered with your membership.

Christian Worldview Science Curriculum
Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science is taught from a definite Christian perspective. The teaching videos begin with prayer and one of the goals of the curriculum is pointing to God as the creator of all. While I didn’t find the videos to be preachy and everyone is welcome to use the curriculum (it is an excellence science curriculum), the Christian worldview is very present and not something you would be able to skip through.
Young Earth Perspective Homeschool Science
As a Christian homeschool mom, I usually take issue with how Christian homeschool curriculum presents the young earth perspective. Greg Landry is the exception. I am completely impressed with how he presents the creation vs. evolution argument and age of the earth. He does not aggressively push a perspective, but presents the arguments for both sides. Neither does he teach speculation as proven fact. I have not seen any other Christian publisher present these points with such gentleness and intelligence. Well done, Mr. Landry!
Homeschool Science Biology for High School
High school science has been a huge hurdle for me to conquer. As we are approaching ninth grade biology, I find that there are many options available for high school curriculum. The problem is, I don’t like many of the options out there. I have switched our homeschool curriculum a few times looking for a good science option before high school. As a non-science minded mom, choosing a curriculum for high school science is a challenge. Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science is my Goldilocks (just right) science curriculum.
My Summary of Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science
I’m sure you can probably tell that I really like this homeschool science curriculum. If I had a Homeschool Top Ten list this would be on it. Greg Landry’s Science curriculum is easy to navigate, well thought out and well executed. It’s exciting that classes are being added for all grade levels and the Homeschool Science Membership can be a one stop shop for homeschool families. This is a science curriculum I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to other homeschoolers.
