I am excited to bring you this review of the Download Club from My Teaching Library. My Teaching Library is an online resource full of downloadable worksheets, lapbooks, notebooking pages and many other types of printable homeschooling resources. They offer a Download Club membership, which allows you an unlimited number of downloads to use for your whole family during the entire duration of your membership. You can purchase an annual or lifetime membership. There are more than enough resources available on My Teaching Library to give your family a variety of hands-on tools to use throughout all of your homeschool years.

How I Use these Homeschooling Resources

Since I was exploring this site for the purpose of this review, I chose a couple of fun resources that I knew my kids would be interested in. If I had the Download Club membership at the beginning of the year, I would have planned it out a bit more and made the worksheets, lapbooks and projects coordinate with our topics of study. My youngest really enjoyed the Sharks Lapbook, and some of the State Bird Notebooking sets. We plan to work through the entire State Bird Notebooking Mega Bundle. Both boys enjoyed building a model town with the Art Project-Build a Community. The flexibility of the resources offered is a great fit for my homeschool as I don’t like to stick with one style or method of instruction. The unlimited availability as a member of the Download Club is a convenient way for me to supplement our homeschool instruction.

Subjects Covered

My Teaching Library provides resources that span all subject areas. Do you need an algebra glossary or extra practice pages? They’ve got those. Language arts and literature units? Those are available too. Every subject is available on My Teaching Library, from math and language arts, to science, social studies, art, electives and character education. There are even seasonal units if you are looking for resources to match certain themes.

Grade Level/Age

Every grade level from Pre-K through 12 is covered with My Teaching Library. They even have a helpful planning resource that shows you what subjects and topics should be taught at every grade level.

Homeschool Style

This can be used for every homeschool style, but would be especially helpful for those doing a traditional school approach or for those doing unit studies. This is also great for DIY homeschoolers that don’t want to follow a curriculum guide and like to put together their own curriculum. It would even work well for after-schoolers looking to supplement their child’s public/private schooling.

How to Use

My Teaching Library is great as a supplement to your regular curriculum. If you are just looking for some hands on worksheets or notebooks and lapbooks to go along with your course of study, this is perfect for you.

You can also use the homeschooling resources that My Teaching Library offers to put together a complete homeschool curriculum for any grade level. If you don’t mind doing a bit of planning, you can definitely use this to build a complete homeschool curriculum. The

download club makes this a very affordable option for homeschoolers on a tight budget, especially for those with multiple kids.

Worldview

I would say this is worldview neutral. This can be used by Christian and Secular homeschoolers alike. Since you choose from a variety of educational resources, you don’t have to use anything you may not like. This flexibility makes this a great resource for all homeschoolers.

Things to Consider

While overall I really like My Teaching Library, there was one issue I found while trying to navigate the website. It can be difficult to find resources when you search for a specific topic. Many times I tried to use the search feature to look for specific key words, and the search would return no results. I would then find worksheets for that topic later on, so the search results weren’t matching what was actually available. You can also search by subject and grade, but this still requires you to look through pages of activities in order to find what you are looking for. This is not a huge issue but it is a bit inconvenient.

The other consideration you have to take into account is the amount of printing required to use this. Some of the projects are quite large and require a lot of ink and paper. The Sharks Lapbook is over ninety pages long! If you have a good printer this may not be much of an issue, but it’s something to keep in mind when considering My Teaching Library.

Summary

The Download Club from My Teaching Library is an excellent place to find homeschooling resources to use in every grade of your homeschool. It can be used as a supplement or a complete curriculum. This is an especially great resource for people putting together their own curriculum or unit studies and can be used by Christian or Secular homeschoolers. As long as you have a good printer, you have a seemingly endless supply of worksheets, lapbooks, and notebooking projects for every homeschool subject. This product is a definite win in my opinion and I highly recommend the Download Club from My Teaching Library!
