One of my favorite things about My Homeschool with a View is the opportunity I get to evaluate new homeschool resources. As a second generation homeschooler, I have seen many newcomers enter the homeschool space. One such newcomer is Education Perfect.

Education Perfect is an online learning platform with over forty thousand lessons, experiments, and topics to enrich homeschool lessons.

Homeschool students have opportunities to engage in learning competitions with other students from across the globe. Monthly homeschool festivals give kids the chance to compete for certificates and even prize money.

Help for Homeschoolers

In the world of online homeschool options, Education Perfect stands out because of the supports they offer to homeschool families.

Every homeschooler that signs up with Education Perfect has the opportunity to participate in a free, online webinar Homeschooling Crash Course. This free option will teach you how to homeschool with Education Perfect.

In addition to the free Homeschooling Crash Course, you can book a 15 minute platform demo. And they offer registration and planning help. Education Perfect makes it easy to use their platform by eliminating any learning curve so you can jump in and get started.

Curriculum Aligned Lessons for All Subjects

Education Perfect works hand in hand with many homeschool curriculum options. You can search the subjects and topics within those subjects to enrich your homeschool lessons.

As my kids are back to the beginning of world history studies, I have been using Education Perfect’s lessons on Ancient Egypt. We have especially enjoyed learning about Ancient Egypt Society. These lessons have let us step into Ancient Egyptian culture and experiencing what life may have been like.

Foreign Language for Homeschool

While you can find many homeschool enrichment subjects on the Education Perfect platform, what stood out to me most were their foreign language options. As I’m prepping to homeschool high school, foreign language is high on my priority list. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of foreign language instruction offered.

Using Education Perfect for Ages 9-19

The lessons in Education Perfect are excellent for independent study. Your kids (or you) can choose a subject, then choose a lesson within that subject. The subjects are divided by grade level, but I found with the content subjects it’s pretty flexible within a few grade levels.

For example, the lessons on Ancient Egypt are listed for seventh grade, but my ninth grader found them engaging. And I am okay with using them off grade level because we’re using it as an extra addition to our curriculum.

Independent and Automatically Graded Curriculum

The questions within the lessons are automatically marked, so kids get automatic feedback and can see how well they are tracking with the topic.

Questions I reviewed were multiple choice or short paragraphs. The multiple choice questions are very simple and straight forward and shouldn’t trip your kids up. The questions requiring a written response are meant to be self assessed by our student, but parents can go in and check their answer if they prefer.

Secular Homeschool Curriculum

Education Perfect is a non-religious homeschool resource. If you use a charter school program, or a publicly funded options program, then Education Perfect may be an option you can use (always check directly with your program). I know many of my readers are part of My Tech High, and Education Perfect would qualify for reimbursement (check directly with My Tech High).

Controversial Topics

Just as worldview is always one of the points on which I base curriculum reviews, I also always include things to consider. I am not stating an opinion, but if there are some things that some may find controversial, I make sure to include it.

While most secular homeschool curriculum maintains a pretty neutral worldview, Education Perfect is an exception. As I was exploring the different lessons, I came across some topics that I don’t normally see in homeschool resources, even if they are secular programs. These topics include gender identity, suicide and online relationships. The term transphobia was also used in the lessons on gender identity.

While these topics weren’t discussed in the history or digital technology lessons we tried out, they were definitely very present in the Health and PE lessons.
